My Hindi Blog
Finally, I had to jump into it. I have been a Hindi writer, it is the language in which I think. But since typing in Hindi is tedious I had somehow put the project on backburner; not any more. The Hindi version of Null Pointer is now live here. It is called “Nukta Chini” (meaning occasional comments, frankly I am not awareof an English word that truly represents its meaning). My colleague Padmaja also joins the bandwagon with her blog “Kahi Ankahi“. For the uninitiated, Alok holds the distinction of creating the first Hindi weblog.
Isn't it an irony that a country where Hindi is the highest spoken language there are only a handful of Hindi bloggers?
हिन्दी के चिट्ठों की मात्रा कम होने के में दो कारण दिखते हैं। अव्वल यह कि जाल
स्वतन्त्र माध्यम है, लेकिन यह बात नियमों, नौकरशाही और सामाजिक बन्धनों में बँधे
हुए हिन्दुस्तानियों के गले उतरते समय लगता है। यहाँ पर आप बेनाम रह के भी अपने आप
को व्यक्त कर सकते हैं, लेकिन एक झिझक है, जिसकी वजह से लोग आगे कदम नहीं उठाते।
दोयम यह कि लोग सङ्गणक की भाषा, अङ्ग्रेज़ी मान के चलते हैं। जब कि उसकी भाषा तो
केवल 0 और 1 की ही है। यह बात सबको नहीं पता है, या पता है तो भी उसका आभास नहीं

Hey, this is really unrelated. I’m trying to spell my name in Hindi on the computer, and every language pack I download makes my drive crash. Could you possibly spell it for me somewhere? I can just do a copy-paste of a webpage. It’s spelt sha mein au ki maatra, na, ka. The sha is the normal sha, not the one with a slash through the middle. Thanks.
Sorry for spamming, this doesn’t seem to work. Maybe jroller.com is sending a message that overrides the page encoding meta tag of utf-8, because the tag is correctly placed.
errr….will that site accept comments in english??
