39th Bharteeya Blog Mela
Ladies and Gentlemen! It's my privilege to host the weekly celebration of Bharteeya Blog Mela this week. And here is a formal invitation:
Translated, that means: nominations for the 39th mela are open and may be submitted using the comments area for this post. If you go by rules, they have been quoted by last host Yazad here. You can nominate posts (including your own) made between December 2 and 8, 2003. The mela will be hosted here on Tuesday, December 9, 2003. Looking forward to your nominations!
Sorry for spamming, but now I see that the hyperlink text in the previous post( the name) displays correctly and would perhaps be displayed correctly in this post as well. So it seems that non – html text poses a problem, which is funny.
Amit’s original post was all numbers, because, perhaps, html syntax is disabled in this box. So those numbers never got converted to the characters.
When I do a view source by right click in mozilla, the view source page is displayed by default in iso-8859-1. What controls that behavior?
The encoding is set that way Alok, dunno why the text is still not visible! If you see the source of this pop-up page you will see that even the page is UTF-8 encoded.
स बार त प या। माल ह। पर view->encoding->utf-8 रना हा।

For those who are wondering what Amit wrote in that cryptic language (Hindi Unicode), here is the unabridged text: “Bhaisahab, Jawab Nahin!, Maan gaye aapki kalaakari ko!, Namashkaar.” Thanks Amit!

Accha likha hai. 🙂
Well, that was greek to me 🙂
Is a greek post an automatic success for lack of understanding by anyone else, much like Yazad’s posts are?
Damn cool verse. I liked the bhasha hindi ho angrezi ho ya greek part best. So now am off to take a crash course in Greek for my post to the mela!
Cheers!
